| CASE STUDY #7 National Health Research Foundation Director of Major & Planned Giving Background: Our Client, a National Health Research Foundation, determined that it needed to secure a passionate, organized, and energetic individual to lead a newly created Major & Planned Giving department within its Development function. Prior to the creation of this role, Major & Planned Giving solicitations were peripheral activities. In the face of a significant Capital Campaign, however, the organization determined that it wanted to leverage the benefits that could be provided by a team of professionals fully dedicated to deploying a high-end Major & Planned Giving function. The Artisan Group was asked to execute the search. After meeting with the Client's Senior Leadership, and after building out a detailed position profile, six prospective candidates were thoroughly screened and presented to the Client. Preliminary Client interviews yielded two finalists. After subsequent rounds of interviews, an offer of employment was extended to the finalist of choice, and was immediately accepted. After little more than one year on the job, the selected candidate has not only made an impact in establishing the Major & Planned Giving unit, but has been promoted to a Vice President role in recognition of exemplary service.
